Again, these are three huge changes in the internal part of the company. The biggest change of all and main point of this case is the backhaul proposal, which consists of many pros and cons. When talking about the backhaul proposal there are only two ways to look at the situation, you love it or you hate it. The pros of the backhaul proposal consist of helping other companies, additional revenue, rise in income, and rise in net revenue, obtain property-broker certification, eliminate third-party broker, create jobs, and reduced traffic centers. Frito-Lay can help other companies by helping them ship for a low price using Frito-Lay trucks. This proposal greatly helps Frito-Lay because it adds additional, a rise in potential income to $15million and a rise in net revenue from $7million-$9million. The company’s goal in the backhaul proposal is to obtain property-broker certification and eliminate third-party brokers. Also, in implementing the backhaul it could create jobs and also reduce traffic centers in the company. The cons of the backhaul proposal in my opinion weigh more than the pros. The cons consist of sales, timely delivery of product to distribution centers and bins, interferes with the removal of KDs, service, reduce number of trailers and length of time each was available to be loaded, contamination of company equipment, increase in theft, drivers are not on board, more time away from home. Sales were strongly opposed to any activities that might compromise service to sale. There could be issues with timely delivery of product to distribution centers and bins. The sales people worried that the backhaul program interferes with the removal of KDs, many of which were nearing capacity as the number of Frito-Lay products increased. This program reduces the number of trailers and also the length of time needed to load each trailer. By adding more products to ship you must do things faster to keep on schedule. A huge con in this program is contamination of company equipment, agricultural products might harbor rodents and insects that could infest the trailers and harm Frito-Lay goods. Another huge con is there could be an increase in theft depending on what the trucks are shipping. The trucks could be shipping items such as electronics, tobacco, or alcohol. I feel that Frito-Lay should come up with some type of insurance policy so that they are not held reliable if something happens to other companies products. The drivers will also most likely not be on board with this program because it keeps them away from home longer and worker harder and longer. There are strengths and weaknesses of the service offering from a customer’s perspective. The strengths are potential savings because Frito-Lay trucks must always drive back to their original distribution center, so they can offer low prices to ship other company’s products. Also, fuel costs go up because of weight, but with the amount of money that they will make shipping other companies products, the price of fuel would not even be a factor. Strength is that companies that are looking to ship low weight low cost goods for a low price, they could us the backhaul program. The weaknesses are that Frito-Lay is not a 3 party logistics, so cannot offer things that a 3 party logistics company could offer to a customer. Frito-Lay does not have the capacity or resources to take control of inbound logistics. They do not have the trucks or man power to go out and get all of their raw materials and still have enough trucks and man power to distribute products. The annual savings of the current KD program is about $23million per year. Other possible ways of saving would be to develop a container that lasts more than 4. 7 times or find disposable containers for less than 10cents each. Utilizing space is 50%, you can use the back haul to get to 100% filling it on the way back from your destination would be the optimization. In my opinion there are many more cons than pros and that is why I do not support the backhaul proposal decision. When all is said and done I feel that the backhaul proposal is a bad idea and I strongly disagree with it. Yes, Frito-Lay will make more money, but the cons drastically out-weight the pros. The truck drivers are the ones that have to take the biggest hit in this program. They are doing more work for the same amount of pay and that is just not fair to them. They will eventually demand more money. Another big factor in why this is a bad idea because Frito-Lay saves large amounts of money on their KDs and if there is no room for these empty containers, they are forced to use more containers hence wasting more money. Also, as I stated before depending on what type of products the Frito-Lay trucks will be carrying, if the trucks were to get things stolen from the truck, this act could damage the face of the company and nobody would ship through them if thing kept getting stolen from their trucks. Frito-Lay makes plenty of money and they are just trying to find ways to make more and they are getting very greedy. I believe that Frito-Lay should stay away from this backhaul program to keep its employees and its customers happy. The only benefit from this program is making more money and keeping top management happy, but if they employees and customers are not happy, then most likely the company would not function to its full efficiency.

We had the real murder weapon within our midst, the weapon that was never exhibited before the Agrava Board, the weapon that killed countless faceless victims, the weapon that we carefully created and erfected our indifference. Yes, we saw the silent pleas in the eyes of the oppressed and heard their distant cries for help but we never looked, we never listened. It was this attitude of unconcern that slowly brought Ninoy to his death. It was like I was swimming in a sea of darkness, content to bathe in the comfort of my surroundings, when suddenly there was a force pulling me, rushing me out of my secure world into the cold blinding light. And on that day, to borrow a phrase from Butz Aquino, l was born again. Questioning: How could they let it happen? Who do they think they are? Are they resorting to cold blooded murder now? When I saw a mother trying to protect her baby from the rain while waiting to get a glimpse of Ninoys body, when I heard the people belting out their frustrations and agony in one voice Ninoy! Ninoy! at his funeral, and when I felt the sense of camaraderie despite the heat and weary feet it was then that I knew where I belonged. When a true Filipino gave his heart, his life for love of country, it was then hat I knew the true meaning of patriotism. But it was also a period of quiet contemplation and humble gestures in the form of prayer rallies, masses, nationalistic songs and yellow flowers. The reader comes to understand the pointlessness of existence through the protagonists lens. Although society defines people by actions, Meursault rejects ideas of categorization and embraces a nihilistic view of life. This judgment passed on individuals is based on an individuals actions. Meursault realizes that everything that lives must die, therefore no matter what one does in life, one is still doomed to the same fate that everyone else is. Meursault makes all of his decisions based on his notion that his actions are unimportant because no matter how society classifies him, he will still die. It is Meursaults utter rejection of all things irrational that separate him from his fellow man and make him a stranger. The fact that Meursault doesnt cry at his own mothers funeral demonstrates how Meursault is disconnected from the normal human emotions of grief that usually accompany death. Meursault is not even sure when his mother died. Maman died today. Or yesterday maybe, I dont know(3). He seems to view the rest of humanity as the others, as if he is a mere observer rather than a part of humanity that he was born into. For example, the image of the elderly people gathered around the caretaker nodding their heads at Meursault conjures up the feeling of vultures surveying their prey. Even Meursault himself feels that they were there to judge(10). His behavior only reinforces this division as he finds himself unable to share in the emotional connection and experience of the vigil. For instance, when one of the women starts to cry, his only response to the tender display of love is, I wish I didnt have to listen to her anymore(10). He does not relate to nor understand the womans humanityas if he were a stranger to the essential elements of what it means to be human. Moreover, when the vigil ends and the elderly friends leave they shake his hand, a gesture to which he mockingly thinks as if that night had somehow brought us closer together (12). This sarcasm underscores how utterly detached he feels from the rest of the world. After returning from the funeral for his mother, Meursault really demonstrates the meaninglessness of his life. What could possibly be more  boring and meaningless than walking around your apartment for a while? This passage is interesting because it gives the reader a rare glimpse of reflection about his mother. Even here, though, it is ultimately selfish in nature. Now that his mother is gone, he feels that his apartment is too big for him. He still lacks remorse or grief, but hes realizing how his mothers death affects him: abstractly and physically. The fact that Meursault thinks the apartment is too big for only him symbolizes his aloneness. Just as the apartment is too big and he lives only in one little part, the world is too big, and he is fundamentally alone. By killing the Arab, Meursault proves that his actions define him, and even if society labels him as a murderer, it does not matter because he is going to die anyway. The murder of the Arab takes place at the climax of the story and it makes the reader wonder why Meursault has no remorse. He is aware of what he is doing and is aware that it is wrong, however he does it anyway. Most people would care if they shot another man, but since he has no cares, he does it with no worries or remorse. If the other one moves in, or if he draws his knife, Ill let him have it (56). This moment in particular is an example of his detached, passive, and psychotic nature. He offers to kill so nonchalantly that it shows no moral stance whatsoever. Hes so mentally detached that the thought of murder poses no great emotion or even feared remorse. Meursault starts to question why he should care about his life before he dies. He does not question what things would make his life worthwhile, but he questions why he should even question the things that would benefit his life. As far as I could see, it didnt have anything to do with me(69). This emphasizes the point that Meursault is strongly disjointed from society and his and other peoples happiness. All Meursault knows is that it is not worth his time to worry about classifying things as good or bad because he will die regardless of his classification. Meursault is asked about emotions and feelings he doesnt have or care to have. Meursault is annoyed because this is all a worthless examination into something that will seemingly bring no real conclusion to anything, because life is absurd. Meursault was sure about one thingdeath. He was sure he would die, just like everyone else.  But I was sure about me, about everything, surer than he could ever be, sure of my life and sure of the death I had waiting for me (120). In his death, Meursault finally becomes part of the mainstream society, along with everyone else. The only guarantee in life is death. Meursault would die regardless of whether he killed the Arab or not. Meursault has reached the understanding that his life is not affected by his actions; it is only affected by his inevitable death. Meursault justifies his actions with his indifference. Whatever he has done in his life could not save him from his death. Meursaults emotional detachment and disconnect from everyday emotions make him a stranger to humanity.

Hinduism is actually a collection of many native Indian religions, past and present. It is responsible for the social structure of India, especially for the caste system (a hereditary class system). The oldest of the world’s great religions, Hinduism is the only one without a founder. It has never tried to win converts by force and has always tolerated other religions and absorbed ideas from them. Hinduism has about 20 sects, with beliefs that range from primitive forms of animism to the highest reaches of mysticism and philosophy. Many of the sects and cults seem to be separate religions. Yet all have a family relationship since they spring from common traditions and thrive on the conditions peculiar to India. Most have a mystic strain and all stress nonviolence. †¢ Describe the major tenets of the Hindu belief system. Hinduism has many sacred objects and places. The cow is the most sacred of animals and must be protected. Most sacred of all places is the Ganges River, to which millions go each year to bathe and to become purified. Hindus believe in rebirth, or reincarnation, and in what they call the law of karma. Under this law the conditions of each new lifetime are determined by the actions of the preceding life. To the Hindu, salvation consists of liberating the soul from attachment to worldly desires in order to gain union with Brahman. If a Hindu dies liberated he must be born again into this world and again endure its suffering.
